Demolition contractors in Austin: five kinds of residential removal

Residential demolition around Round Rock and Austin breaks into five distinct jobs. Each one has its own sequence, its own equipment and its own permit questions, so each gets a page of its own. Pick the one that matches what you need gone and read it before the first site visit.

Matching the job to the right page

A whole teardown is the biggest of the five, and it pulls in nearly every step the others use: an asbestos survey, utility caps, a permit, foundation removal, fill and grading. Outbuildings are lighter work, but yard access and what stays behind become the main questions. Pools are their own category because of what goes back into the hole. Interior jobs happen inside a house that is still standing, sometimes still lived in, which changes everything about dust and protection. Concrete removal is about thickness, steel and the base left underneath for the next pour.

The line between categories is not always obvious. A carport bolted to the side of a house might be handled as a garage job or as part of a larger teardown, depending on what happens to the house. Ripping out a patio before a pool goes in is concrete work, while filling in an old pool and pouring a new patio over it starts as pool removal. When in doubt, describe the whole project and let the contractor decide how to break it up.

If your project spans more than one of these, read each page that applies. A contractor can usually price combined work together on one visit.

Price follows the site visit

None of these pages lists a price, on purpose. Size, materials, access, hazardous findings and disposal shift the number on every property, so the contractor sets it after seeing the job. The area pages describe local conditions, and the contact page explains what to send.
